Hard ChromeHard Chrome plating will improve the efficiency and increase the life of the plated part. Deposit thicknesses range from “flash” (very thin deposits .000010”) to “heavy buildups” (up to .050 in some cases). The final application of the part usually determines the thickness of the deposit. On shafts, pins and other high wear components, the benefit of chrome increases in proportion to the thickness of the deposit. Thicker deposits are used in industrial equipment to reduce friction and wear and to restore the dimensions of equipment that has experienced wear.
